Welcome to F.R.A.T.'s new home site. The Fort Riley Airsoft Team was created in 2006 and was established by U.S. Active duty Army soldiers of the 1st ID at Fort Riley Kansas. Originally the Airsoft “team” was a combination of a few soldiers who wanted another recreation activity on the weekends. However the Teams Commander at the time SSG. Crawford realized how great of a training tool that Airsoft could play within today’s growing and ever changing Army. Once this realization came to light, a lot of time and effort went into the groups’ organization to actually become a team, and later was recognized as such by the United States Army Garrison Fort Riley, B.O.S.S., and The Command Staff here on Fort Riley. The team was awarded through the Command Staff a Team Gideon and training area. Once recognized as the Fort Riley AirSoft Team, the Teams mission became a dynamic one. The Teams’ goal was to provide a World Class AirSoft Team, and to represent The Unites States of America and the U.S. Army. Its mission, to provide real world training both at the individual and squad level through the use of Airsoft to teach soldiers to become more proficient warriors, and to help supplement unit training in order to produce a better trained, prepared, and proficient war fighter in today’s conflicts. This has resulted in at least 2 promotions of members due to technical proficiency, and professionalism during Unit Training Exercises. This has helped facilitate better training for other soldiers within F.R.A.T. members unit’s due to this training. Now commanded by SGT. Aaron C Combs, the Fort Riley Airsoft Team is Comprised of 7 different MOS’s ranging from 11B to 92A and is capable of real world unit function due to a network of S-Shops, fire and sniper teams, recon team and an upcoming mortar team put in place by the teams leaders.
